I'm currently listening to the single "Come Thou Long Expected Jesus" by Jaime Jamgochian from the album by various Artists Bethlehem Skyline !
I am an avid lover of music and one thing that I find to be so wonderful, is when already beautiful 'hymns of the faith' are given an 'update' in relation to trends in the music industry of our time. Not only is Jaime is a prolific Songwriter and a Musician that excels, but she has also been blessed with a beautiful voice to articulate such prolific music. In the case of the 'traditional hymn' "Come Thou Long Expected Jesus", Jaime offers a unique spin on the song, but keeps to the spirit of the original composition. Truly two very enthusiastic thumbs up!
My fav lyrics? "born a child and yet a King" When I started 'this Christian girl 'zine thing' (smile) now going on 10 years ago, I was a teen girl myself, and as an advocate for tween, teen, and young adult girls, I love love love this concept! When we look all throughout the Bible, we see God using 'the least among us' (see Luke 9:46-48)--children! AND who's one of the most important children seen being used in the Bible...the LORD God Almighty Himself! How awesome to know that truly we 'should not despise the days of small beginnings' (see Zechariah 4) but instead embrace our youth years as valid times to follow and serve God in whatever ways He guides us to!
