ZOEgirl "Good Girl" / Editor's Currently Listening To

Hi InTheTimes.com Girls!

I'm currently listening to the single "Good Girl" originally from the Room to Breathe album and recently re-released on The Ultimate Collection 2-disc set. This is a great encouraging song for all of us 'good girls' out there!

My fav lyrics? It's hard to pick...this is such a great song! "You're not about mini skirts / And silly reasons just to flirt / 'Cause you've got heaven on your side / And that's how you live your life / Hang on, good girl, you're not the only one / Be strong, good girl, when the pressure comes / When they try to bring you down / You'll be glad you stood your ground / So just hang on"

Sometimes it seems like 'good girls' get the short end of the stick...and yes, even in 'Christian circles' good girls sometimes seem to come in last. But, we've 'just got to hang on'! When we follow the Lord, He truly does give us 'a peace that surpasses all understanding' when pressure comes. Having this Godly confidence is priceless! Stand your ground good girls!

This month ZOEgirl The Ultimate Collection, a 2-disc set featuring some of ZOEgirl's best-loved songs releases! This is a great collection for long-time ZOEgirl fans and it makes a great gift for fans to introduce others to the ZOEgirl legacy of music!

Wondering what the girls have been up to since their last studio release? Alisa Girard-Childers has released her self-titled solo debut album and is currently in the studio recording her sophomore solo album!

Kristin Swinford-Schweain has released her solo debut album Days of Eden and along with Chrissy Conway-Katina has formed the new group Colman Blue ! Colman Blue is currently in the studio recording their first album!

UNBROKEN
"Sometimes you have to experience the depths of sorrow to recognize and appreciate the true fullness of joy. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 1:18, "For in much wisdom is much grief, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow."

To truly be able to pray, talk, and relate to one another on an everyday basis, we have to first endure the trials and heartaches that shadow everyday life. It's a good thing to be a broken person !

The depth of compassion, understanding, and steadiness that are gained through trials is something I wouldn't trade for one tear that has ever fallen from my eyes. It's the most amazing growth experience to find out for yourself how far the arm of grace can truly extend."


SHE
"We have always felt an urgency to address issues in our songs that are relatable to real life, and present Godly, Biblical answers to those issues.

This is a song about a young girl in the church who gets pregnant. It’s a social commentary on how the church deals with this situation. It's so unfortunate that when something like this happens, other Christians can tend to shut someone out, or make an example of them.

This is a challenge to Christians to sweep these girls up into their arms and find out what's going on in their hearts, and then nurse them back to health, just as Jesus would do. What would Jesus do? That's a great question for us all to continually ask ourselves, and hopefully this song will open the forum for that question to be asked more often."


CONTAGIOUS
"This is a simple song that addresses the idea that if there is even one person that is excited and on fire with the things of God, that will catch on and infect other people.

Just as every bonfire starts with one match, revival can start with one willing person who is filled with God's joy and love. We hope this song will encourage people to let the light shine in their lives, and not be afraid to let it shine !"


LIFE TO ME
"Some songs are written, others are birthed quite quickly. "Life To Me" is one of those songs that God just poured out of us. The music was written by Lynn Nichols and Tedd T, and when we heard it, we were so moved that we wanted to make sure that the lyric and melody did the music justice.

We each took a copy of the music home, and prayed that God would tell us just what to say. When we got together the next day, we were full with a sense of anticipation and excitement about it. We all three had written almost the same melody, and all the lyric ideas worked together perfectly.

This song is truly our heart's cry not only as Christians, but also as three young girls desiring God's perfect will and the fullness of His Spirit in our lives. We hope that this song will touch others as much as it has touched us."
