ITT:Touring...recording...writing...family & friend time...you time...how do you balance having a "quiet time" with God? You know, Bible study, prayer, just hanging with Him. What are some disciplines that have really helped you keep God as the focus of your life that you'd like to share with the InTheTimes.com girls?
JJ: Spending time with God really changes my attitude for the day. When I spend time reading the Bible and praying, I find that I'm much more focused on the important things in life, and less focused on myself.
I really enjoy writing in a prayer journal. My mind wanders so easily when I pray silently, so writing down my prayers helps me spend quality time with the Lord. It's also great to look back in the journal and see how God has answered my prayers.

Cheri Keaggy on Love

ITT:What's something really cool that God has been teaching you recently in life?
Cheri: God has taught me about love. It sounds so simplistic, but it's what He's all about. It's all throughout scripture: Love one another. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength. Love your neighbor as yourself, etc.
I've discovered that it is only as I allow God to love me and heal me in my hurt places, that I am freed up to be able to love others as He calls me to.
I want to show Christ's love through my speech and actions and sometimes that means holding my tongue, extending forgiveness, going out of my way to help someone or writing a note of thanks. Sometimes it means “speaking the truth in love” even when it's not easy. I don't always love well, but I'm learning from a great Teacher, the Lover of my soul.
It's important to me to include scripture in my lyrics because God's truths are timeless. The title cut of my album, Because He First Loved Us, comes from 1 John 4:19--we love because He first loved us. I'm learning how true that statement really is.

Adie Camp on Making Quiet Time with God a Priority

What are some disciplines that have really helped you keep God as the focus of your life that you'd like to share with the InTheTimes.com girls?
Adie: I make sure that everyday I allocate time to spend with the Lord. I read from my Bible, I also read a proverb for every day of the month, and I have an amazing and very humbling book that I'm reading from called Royal Insignia, it's kind of like a devotional.
Sometimes I have to make a conscious decision that the rest of life can wait, because I NEED to spend time with my Saviour.
As often as I can, I will lay the girls down at the same time for a nap and that way I have some time alone to pray. Also sometimes I try to get the girls to bring their Bible and sit next to me while I read mine—it's fun time together and also hopefully a Godly example for them too.
