ITT:Touring...recording...writing...family & friend time...you time...how do you balance having a "quiet time" with God? You know, Bible study, prayer, just hanging with Him. What are some disciplines that have really helped you keep God as the focus of your life that you'd like to share with the InTheTimes.com girls?
Jenn: It really is a discipline sometimes, but I do know that when I spend time in His word, my attitude is dramatically altered that day. I love spending time with my heavenly Father. Once I get into God's word, His truth and light draw me into an intimacy with Him that is unparalleled by other experiences. It is this nearness that beckons each one of us. No matter how difficult it seems, don't miss out on daily moments in God's presence—which are far more precious than reading a verse or two and going on with your day unchanged.

Krissy Nordhoff on Contentment...

ITT:What's something really cool that God has been teaching you recently in life?
Krissy: Contentment. That He really calls us to be content in every situation. It can be a hard lesson to learn, but it is very freeing when you really grasp it.
When my sister was in the hospital very ill, my family went over to clean her house. My dad walked out of her room with an open book, all teary. He said that she had written page after page of things that she was thankful for.
That inspired me then, but even more now. I believe the secret of being content is being thankful.

Lindsey Kane on Quiet Time with God...

ITT:Touring...recording...writing...family & friend time...you time...how do you balance having a "quiet time" with God? You know, Bible study, prayer, just hanging with Him. What are some disciplines that have really helped you keep God as the focus of your life that you'd like to share with the InTheTimes.com girls?
Lindsey: I like to spend time with the Lord in the morning, before my day gets started and turns into busyness, that way I start my day off on the right foot. I've got to surrender my life to Him, so that He can live through me throughout the day. It's all about priorities, as my parents say. I must decide to give the Lord time throughout the day, to pray throughout the day, and meditate on His Word. To not leave Him in my quiet time, but to take Him with me all throughout the day, no matter what I'm doing.
Some disciplines (or “holy habits” which is sometimes a more palatable term) I have developed, that have helped me keep focused on Christ, is to start and end my day in prayer, and to talk to God throughout the day, like at traffic lights and times when I'm sitting idle. It helps to pray and get in the Word before turning on my computer or the TV.
Sometimes, I will drive without turning the radio or ipod on, just to make sure my mind is staying focused on Christ. I love to write scripture or encouraging quotes on my mirror to keep my eyes focused on what’s important.
I also have some friends who keep me accountable and ask me if I’ve spent time with the Lord. I would encourage you to get a friend to remind you to spend those important daily times with God.
I also keep a Bible with me in my purse, a little pocket Bible, just in case I want to see what the Lord has to say to me in that moment. Also, journaling has been an incredibly enjoyable discipline, it helps me stay focused in prayer, it slows my mind down because I actually have to write out my crazy endless thoughts that seem to go 100 miles an hour!

Courtney Myers on Keeping Focused on God...

Courtney: God has been teaching me to constantly keep my focus on Him. He is the only one who can give me ultimate joy and peace. He gives and takes away.

Tori: Something cool that God is continuously teaching me is forgiveness. I'm learning not to dwell on where I have sinned in my life, because God does not even remember our sins. He has forgiven us!
