Ruth: Congrats on wanting to dress modestly ! Yes, unfortunately some girls are abusing the "skinny jean trend". Always remember that you don't have to wear 'painted on jeans' in order to achieve the skinny jean look ! Instead, wear your skinny jeans with class and always be aware of the image that you are projecting to others. Make sure that your image lines up with the faith in Christ that you profess. Don't be a hypocrite!
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.
Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are." (Matthew 23:13-15, NIV)
"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." (Matthew 7:3-5, NIV)
3 THINGS TO KNOW about wearing Skinny Jeans...
+Shoe selection is a big deal: Ok, one of my personal fashion grievances regarding the skinny jean trend, is that some girls are wearing them with sky-high heels that overpower the jeans.
From a fashion perspective, this presents a confusing and very awkward look. What is your centerpiece for the outfit? Your sky-high heels or your skinny jeans? ...very unstable in presentation...
Make sure that your shoes don't overpower your skinny jeans ! Choose a pair that balances your outfit.
Can you wear high heels with skinny jeans? Yes, but seriously, puh-lease, I don't know how many more ways to say it...make sure that you don't look uncomfortable and awkward ! Whew! Got that off of my shoulders... (smile)
+Forget about sizes: The thing with skinny jeans is that you may have to buy a size that is much higher than the size that you normally wear in 'regular cut' jeans.
Don't waste money on clothes that don't fit properly and/or aren't flattering. Instead invest in pieces that make you look fabulous dah-ling!
+Evaluate yourself realistically: Just because another girl looks gorgeous in this trend, doesn't mean that you will. Work with your own unique body frame and whatever you wear, create a look that flatters / showcases the beautiful you on the outside and the inside!

3 more THINGS TO KNOW about wearing Skinny Jeans...
+Remember they are pants: Steer clear of "skinny jeans" that look more like stockings / tights or leggings. Unless, you wear something l-o-n-g, like a tunic or a dress worn as a top / tunic.
Want to rock a mini-skirt or short dress and still uphold modesty? Get creative and wear them over top of these types of skinny jeans.
+Don't be orlook like a "fashion victim": Sigh... (lol) Do not, I repeat, do not look like you gave no thought to your outfit. Do not look like you just 'threw on' skinny jeans just 'because they are trendy'.
What is a "fashion victim" ? Someone who appears to have 'thrown on' every trendy piece they could find, in some effort to be 'cool' and 'socially acceptable' according to whatever their currently desired 'subculture' is.
+Ballet Flats are your friend: Want a delicate, girlie look? Want to make sure that your skinny jeans don't look like 'high waters' (slang for pants that are unintentionally too short...not a good look to sport. Not to be confused with "capris" which are très chic!) Soooo, try rocking a cute (yet, not overpowering) pair of ballet flats !
So yes, modesty and skinny jeans do mix! You just have to give thought and creativity--both God-given qualities (just check out Genesis 1-2 & then observe the beauty of this Earth if you ever doubt it)--to the clothes you wear!
Happy shopping!
