Q: I'm getting ready to graduate, what are some things to know about what to wear ?
Ruth: Congrats on your upcoming Graduation! This is your time to shine, so you want to be comfortable! You don't want to waste your time and emotions worried about any potential wardrobe malfunctions and discomfort. So, check out our tips below!
5 THINGS TO KNOW about Graduation Fashion...
+ Gather the basic facts: location/outside or inside, check the weather report, style of dress/formal, semi-formal, etc.
+ Go smooth: Remember, your outfit will be hidden for a majority of the time, underneath your graduation gown. So, you want to have a 'smooth' look, not a 'frumpy' look. Avoid anything that is too 'poufy', instead opt for 'flat' pieces. Check out the examples below:

+ Consider the stage: If you are wearing a dress or skirt, consider wearing tight-fitting shorts underneath. Make sure that none of your pieces are see-through. Before and after the ceremony, there will be lots of camera flashes, video cameras, etc. and you don't want your fashion faux pas captured in time for all to see. And of course, remember modesty with all of your fashion choices.
+ Breathe: Make sure that your body can 'breathe', so forget too tight pieces. You will probably be standing around a lot, and this is especially important if your Graduation is outside, in a not-so-well ventilated area, and/or if you live in a hot climate.
+ Pick a Power Color(s): Select a color scheme that you really like and always look good in--this will also help boost your mood if any Graduation drama goes on. (smile) Also consider the dirt factor, you don't know what the status of the chairs, etc. will be at the ceremony, so keep that in mind when selecting a color scheme.
Have an ultra fabulous Graduation !
