Q: Are there any everyday habits that help cause facial blemishes?

Friday, March 13th, 2009 at 10 PM by Ruth Tynes / Online Editor / InTheTimes.com

InTheTimes.com Fashion Channel I heart InTheTimes.com Q: Question Are there any everyday habits that help cause facial blemishes

A: Yes! Here are some common habits that help contribute to facial blemishes and how to help put a stop the them...

+ Clean your phone receiver regularly. Bacteria quickly builds up and helps contribute to facial blemishes.

+ Bacteria also quickly builds on your pillowcases, comforter, and sheets...don't forget to clean them regularly!

+ Not drinking enough water affects your skin and is often released in the form of facial blemishes. If drinking an adequate amount of water is a challenge for you, make it glamorous by buying a cute cup that you enjoy drinking out of, a unique reusable container to carry with you, and / or little disposable bottles.

+ Sleeping with make-up on...not properly cleansing after wearing make-up...not completely washing off facial cleansers... Take the time to cleanse your skin right !

+ Your diet... Work to balance healthy foods with junk, fast, and frozen foods. Make sure to get a proper amount of veggies, fruits, vitamins, protein, etc. A poor diet shows in your skin !

+ Keep your hands clean and touch your face as little as possible! Germs from your hands can contribute to facial blemishes.

Great question !

Now, a little more about Natalie's ensemble...

InTheTimes.com Fashion Channel Natalie Grant Catch the Look Sash Belts Home Foundation Natalie rocked this look at her recent 2nd Annual Home Foundation Benefit Concert. All of the featured artists wore t-shirts designed by the Home Foundation which say "Abolitionist" across the front and on the sleeve of the shirt there is a Home Foundation logo.

The concert raised support for the organization's H.O.M.E.S. Project initiative, which operates in conjunction with various faith-based agencies to provide resources and build shelters for human trafficking victims in the United States.

Yes American ITT girls, this is not just a problem oversees, but exists right here in the States as well.

Natalie recalls the day the Home Foundation was birthed in her heart, "In 2004, I was sitting comfortably in my suburban house, drinking tea and half-watching an episode of Law and Order.

As I was chilling out, or really more zoning out, in front of my television, something on the screen caught my attention. A little girl was being sold as a sex slave to some man in a suit in New York City.

New York? What? Okay, so I know it's just a TV show, but I thought Law and Order was always loosely based on some sort of reality and some guy was buying a kid out of a van. I've bought designer knock-off handbags out of a van in NYC, but a child? Come on, this was in no way real, right? Or was it?

I couldn't shake what I was seeing. They were depicting human trafficking, which at that point I had never heard of before. I Googled. When in doubt, that's what I do, I Google. What I discovered through that one search rocked me to the core and would change my life forever."

Natalie established the Home Foundation in 2005 to help combat international human trafficking. A priority of her ministry platform, Natalie educates audiences on the plight of children forced into the sex trade both domestically and around the world.

ITT girls, for more info on Natalie's Home Foundation, visit the official web site . There are even volunteer opportunities available!

Kudos to Natalie for taking the term "fashion-forward" to a whole new level !
