>>> Keep clean eyelashes : Make sure that your eyelashes are clean before you apply mascara. Make sure that you wash mascara off completely whenever you use it.
>>> Think natural : Don't overdo it! You don't want to look like a monster, so think natural. You might want to match your mascara color with your current hair color. Either way, you want a natural look application, so refrain from wearing extreme messy layers and clumps.
>>> Don't be afraid to return mascara that irritates your skin / eyes to the store / web site. As well as mascara that is poor quality.
>>> Don't use old mascara. If you keep mascara longer than the packaging says, you could end up with an eye infection because of bacteria build up. Don't share mascara with family members / friends, it transfers germs.
>>> After applying your mascara, use a Lash & Brow Brush to comb out the clumps.
>>> Wipe the tip of the mascara wand before you start applying to remove excess mascara. Excess mascara helps contribute to a messy application.
Have fun! RUTH

Deidra Hughes on Fashion
Thursday, June 18th, 2009 at 12:00 AM by Ruth Tynes / Online Editor / InTheTimes.com
"I absolutely love fashion! If I don't have something going on with my hair color, I will have some sort of cute cut. Typically you won't see me with the same hair style for very long. I love make-up and my favorite make-up is M.A.C. My friends joke with me because I actually gave birth to my two little girls with my hair styled, full make-up, and high heel shoes (shoes are my weakness) :)
However, during a normal day of the week I have a lot going on, and I want to be trendy and cute without all of the fuss. I start my day with a clean face and put on only the essentials in make-up. I usually put on a little base, blush, lip gloss and mascara. I am a firm believer in mascara...if you have that, you don’t really need anything else :)
I love ponytails because you can dress them up or down, you can wear them trendy or wear them classy, and you can also hide them under cute little hats (which I love).
One of my favorite stores to shop at is Target because you do not have to sacrifice the trend for the money. I bought some sandals there that I absolutely love, I can dress them up with a maxi dress from Target or dress them down with jeans and a tee, either way you always look stylish. Don’t buy into to the lie that fashion has to cost you a lot of money.
My advice to InTheTimes.com Girls is don't think that you need a lot of make-up to be beautiful, because it is all in how you put it on. Learn your personal style and stick to that, it's ok if you don't look like someone else, God made us all different ! "
