Ruth: Plaid has been showing up 'everywhere' for Fall 2009 and Winter 2009/2010. Now, if you've heard it once, you've heard it a thousand times, and I am going to say it again. (lol !)
It really doesn't matter if something is 'in' or not, the most important thing is if YOU like it.
But, I know what you mean, soooo, yes!
Plaid is one of those 'classic' patterns that you can work into your wardrobe whatever the season and whatever your 'style' of dress is.
One of my fashion grievances this past Fall and Winter season has been that, many girls are limiting themselves to just plaid button-down shirts. There are so many designers / brands out there that are going beyond plaid button-down shirts, and offering such a fabulous variety of plaid options.
ITTgirl couture plug here (smile) one such option is our "Turquoise Plaid" Headband. Because of the color scheme--a mix of bright turquoise, olive, and gold metallic--you can mix 'n' match it no matter the season!
Now, am I suggesting that you trash all of your plaid button-down shirts? Of course not! They are cute too, luv 'em (smile) and we're going to be talking about them later this week. BUT, think outside of the box when it comes to dressing plaid, check out the fashion ideas below!

4 THINGS TO KNOW about Plaid Tops...
+ Wearing a basic plaid button-down shirt? Stay feminine by accessorizing with cute jewelry, hair style, shoes, etc.
+ Vary the whole plaid button-down shirt look, by finding a button-down with unique detailing (ex.-ruffles, embellishment, etc.)
+ Don't always 'throw on' a pair of jeans with your plaid top--jeans are great, but not all of the time. Switch things up and wear a skirt, cute pair of capris, etc.
+ Sometimes plaid can be blinding...(smile) Break up the print by pairing (a tank underneath, shrug / vest over, etc.) with a basic color found somewhere in the print (ie-brown, blue, pink, etc.)
