" Being single can get a little difficult at times. I get lonely on the road and wish that I had someone to talk to besides the guys in Group 1 Crew. But I'm single by choice.

Set standards for yourself regarding the type of man that you want to date / marry and don't change them for anyone! Make sure that the guy doesn't just look good, but that he loves God just as much as you do (or even more) ! "

Cheri Keaggy's 'Once Upon a Time' Real Life Love Story

ITT: How did you meet your husband? How is he an encouragement to you, and what advice would you like to give InTheTimes.com girls when it comes to finding the Godly 'man of their dreams' ?

Cheri: My husband and I just celebrated twenty years of marriage. It hasn't always been easy, but we are both totally committed to one another.

We met back in high school, he had a Christian band at the time and wanted me to play keyboard in the band. As a teenager he was really bold in his faith and God used him to challenge me in mine.

While I had been in church as a child, with a genuine respect for God, I had never progressed to reading my Bible on my own at home during the week. He got me my first devotional books that helped me do that.

Over time, I came to understand that being a Christian was so much more than going to church on Sundays. It's being mindful of the things of the Lord every day of the week. It's being in a living relationship with my Maker. All of us were made for relationship.

In considering a future life partner, I think it's important to observe the relationships of the person in question. Does he honor and respect his parents and other authority figures? Does he have good, Godly friends in his life? Is he actively pursuing God? Does he talk about Him in places other than church? Is he using whatever gifts God has given him to serve others?

Remember, our spouses were never meant to fulfill every dream we ever had. That's way too much pressure for any one human being to handle. As we seek God first and allow Him to be our all in all, He will bring someone along in His time. Our job is to focus on God and grow in character, grace, and beauty. As we do that, some handsome, Godly gentleman is bound to notice! And what a beautiful gift we will be to that person.

Carrie Marshall on Being a 'PK'

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009 at 12:00 AM by Ruth Tynes / Online Editor / InTheTimes.com

InTheTimes.com Fun Channel Carrie Marshall on Being a PK Pastors Kid Thanks for reading my InTheTimes.com feature! Click here to visit my web site for more info!

"For the most part, I've loved being a 'PK' (pastor's kid). In my family, what was preached on Sunday was also lived out on a daily basis—that is paramount! I grew up with a healthy outlook on what the Church was meant to be—a family of Believers whose main goal is to bring glory and honor to God, to love others, starting within the Church and then reaching outward.

My father and mother are really my heroes, they have such wisdom and love, and are grace-filled. We had rules to follow, but it was done out of grace, not legalism, and what a huge difference that makes.

PK's are definitely in the spotlight, whether they want to be or not. I remember as a teenager, having people tell me my outfits were 'shocking' and I've had people tell me they didn't like my haircut...you have to wonder what they're thinking when they do that!! And how I really wanted to retaliate and frankly tell them that their hair style was twenty years outdated!!

It can be a little weird when a complete stranger walks up to you at the mall and talks to you like you're best friends and knows your entire life story because you've been sermon illustrations for the past 17+ years ! A flip side to that is running into people who've left the church for one reason or another. I've had people literally ignore me, pretend they didn't see me and walk the other way when I've run into them at a store.

It's easy to criticize a leader and it's hurtful to see your parents, who are serving to the best of their ability get treated in harsh ways. But, it is part of being in the ministry and I think in many ways, watching how my parents handled that kind of pressure, watching them forgive and in some cases, watching restoration take place, has made a huge impact on my own ministry and relationships. For my family, it really drew us together."

Chelsie Boyd on Touring + School

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009 at 12:00 AM by Ruth Tynes / Online Editor / InTheTimes.com

InTheTimes.com Fun Channel Chelsie Boyd on Touring plus School Thanks for reading my InTheTimes.com feature! Click here to visit my web site for more info!

ITT: In addition to being a Recording Artist, you are a student, how does that balance out? What disciplines have you had to cultivate in your life and what lessons have you learned? Any advice to the InTheTimes.com girls?

Chelsie: Being a student in addition to being an artist gets pretty tough sometimes. Especially with being an honors student, sometimes homework can get pretty heavy.

A lot of times I find myself doing homework on the road, so I've really had to learn to concentrate to get all of my work done. I've always been a real procrastinator, so I have to really try not to get distracted.

My advice to the girls out there would be to always be yourself. Be the one to not follow the crowd for once. To me, that's always been very important. Even if it means having people laugh at you or talk about you behind your back, you should always strive to be the person that God made you to be.

Kerri Pomarolli's 'Once Upon a Time' Real Life Love Story

ITT: Your husband and fellow Professional Comedian Ron, truly is a partner in ministry with you, how did you meet, how is he an encouragement to you, and what advice would you like to give InTheTimes.com girls when it comes to finding the Godly 'man of their dreams' ?

Kerri: I never set out to be the poster child for “What Not to Do” in dating. But my ministry Bitter Party of One lasted way too long. I finally turned my dating over to God...then I took it back...turned it over again...took it back...it went like this for years. But one day I woke up and it had been a year since I had a date...then more than a year and I was still breathing. I was writing this crazy book chronicling my life and dating and I realized God had really cleaned me up. My mind was clear to actually see the "right person" for once.

As I write in the last chapter of my book, I was on an airplane with this crazy comedian who brought Krispy Creme doughnuts and he was my friend. Not my type...but a nice guy. I said, "Ron what do you want in a girl?" He said, "Someone who has caller id and still takes my calls!" I laughed and laughed and after 4 hours on a plane the blinders came off and God showed me "I loved this man!" I'm not kidding. It took being trapped in Ohio for 3 days with him and no one else, doing comedy for God to show me this was my husband.

Of course he didn't see it AT ALL. I threw myself at him in that "Godly way" and he didn't get it. I had to be mature...have a friend call him up on the phone and say, "She likes you!" We've been together ever since. His name is Ron McGehee and I'm crazy in love with him. Sometimes I want to run screaming because there is a man in my house with nowhere else to go who says he lives there.

Marriage is hard...no really hard. But my main advice to any woman is marry someone you're crazy about...and marry a spiritual leader. If you don't have that you don't stand a chance. The enemy hates marriage and tries to tear it down in every way. Ron and I fight...but we always turn to God. Ron's a prayer warrior and I need that 'cause I'm a diva and I have a lot of "issues" I mean prayer requests.

I almost settled. God delivered me. He can for you too. Are you willing to wait on God? It's worth it, believe me. Ron and I now tour together doing ministry and comedy and I wouldn't have it any other way. He makes me laugh all the time and that saves his life when he forgets to do the dishes (smile!)
