Lucia Parker's 'Once Upon a Time' Real Life Love Story
Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009 at 12:00 AM by Ruth Tynes / Online Editor / InTheTimes.com
ITT:How did you meet your husband? How is he an encouragement to you? What advice would you like to give InTheTimes.com girls when it comes to finding the Godly 'man of their dreams' ?
Lucia: I love to talk about this. Well, in the year 2000, the one who is now my beloved husband was trying to form a band. He had everything ready except for the female voice he needed. He was a Praise & Worship Director in his Church. Asking many different people if they knew about a girl that would be interested in being part of the band, he asked a friend we had in common and he talked to him about me.
Soon, he called me and he insisted in coming to my father’s Church to listen to me sing. I hadn’t recorded anything yet, but knew God had called me to serve Him through music, so I said yes, and that is how we met. Then we started singing in concerts and became really close friends...the rest is history.
I found out he had all those special things I desired in a person. Most of all, his passion for Jesus and his love for music. Since then, He has been a great supporter of what only months after meeting him, would become a ministry. He encouraged me to follow the call in my life and has helped me to dream with things that looked impossible, and now are a reality.
To all of you young girls that are looking for that Godly man of your dreams, I would like to say to you, that you need to find a person who first of all, loves God with all his heart. I'm sure that your beauty will attract all kinds of handsome men, but don’t loose the opportunity to marry the correct one, by choosing one that does not have the must-have quality--which is passion and love for God.
I can suggest to you this checklist that never fails--you must ask yourself these 3 things:
1. Does he have God as his 1st priority in his life?
2. What do my parents think about him?
3. Is he a good son?
If you are waiting in the Lord, when that person comes, ask yourself these 3 questions. I hope to hear your love story someday, as I am now telling you mine!

Deidra Hughes on Growing Up
Tuesday, September 1st, 2009 at 12:00 AM by Ruth Tynes / Online Editor / InTheTimes.com
ITT:Growing up is hard for every girl, were there any specific issues that you dealt with growing up that you'd like to encourage the InTheTimes.com girls about? Deidra: I moved around quite often, so that had it's good and bad points. The great thing about moving was I always met new friends. However, the bad part about moving was that most schools already had their group of friends, and outsiders were hard to get used to.
Don't be intimidated by someone else who may have a different look, skill, or personality. We are all just people and deep down inside you'll find we are pretty much the same. We all have things we struggle with, and weaknesses to get over. Even someone who looks so beautiful and put together on the outside, may be really lonely and hurting on the inside.
There is a lot of pain that can come out of assuming things of people. I dealt with jealousy quite often because girls assumed I was something I wasn't. I was shy and observant most of the time, and that was mistaken for prideful and rude.
Try to give everyone a chance :) If you are the one getting picked on it is probably because they haven't realized you are just a person too. Maybe they are intimidated by you and you could do or say something to break the ice with them a bit.

Caroline Williams on Dating
Monday, August 31st, 2009 at 12:00 AM by Ruth Tynes / Online Editor / InTheTimes.com
ITT:Any advice for the InTheTimes.com girls when it comes to dating / standards / purity?
Caroline: I think I am really too young to date. I have a lot of friends that are boys but not boyfriends. My advice would be to enjoy your boy friends as friends and save the dating for a later age.
